Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc has informed the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) of the withdrawal of the letter of resignation of Mrs. Maryam Uwais MFR as a Non-Executive Director on the Board.
The bank had earlier written the NSE on the 9th of December, informing the exchange of the resignation of Maryam Uwais MFR as an independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Stanbic IBTC HOLDINGS PLC.
Mrs. Uwais premised her decision to resign on from the Board on the fact that she thought her recent appointment as Special Adviser to the President on Social Investments precluded her from continuing her role on the Board of the company.
She has however received legal advice, which says her appointment as Special Adviser to the President does not preclude her from continuing her role as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
