  • Forbes has released its latest report on the richest entertainers in the world, and this has list brought up some surprising and not so surprising names.
  • Floyd Mayweather comes out top with a $300million pay, making it the highest annual sum ever for an athlete. This money came mostly from his May 2 victory over Manny Pacquiao, who took home $160million the same day.
  • Their fight generated a record 4.4 million pay-per-view buys and media coverage from Mayweather’s Las Vegas home turf to Pacquiao’s native Philipines.
  • The boxers rank 1st and 2nd on the Celebrity 100 list, which measures the earnings of the highest –paid entertainers on the planet over a 12 month period.
  • The third ranked star, was unexpectedly Katy Perry, who clocked a whopping $135milllion. Katy Perry played a total of 124 shows, 75 of them took place outside America, in 27 different Countries.
  • One Direction takes the No. 4 spot for similar reasons with Katy Perry. The world’s biggest boy band played 74 shows over the past 12 months, hitting every continent besides Antarctica. Thanks to a strong touring drive and profound changes in the concert business, spurred by the rise of the global middle class.
  • Others in the list include, Robert Downey Jr.(No.8) who earned $80million for his role in the movie Iron Man. Vin Diesel (no.43) banked $47million for his role on Furious 7, which brought in $1.5billion worldwide.
