A report on Businessday claims a sum of N232m was fetched from the sale of Art works in 2012. The report sites Art-House Contemporary Ltd has having made a sale of N101.68million in May and another N91.34million in November Art sales.?Terra Kulture on the other hand, sold 59 lots out of its 99 lots put out for sale in its April 2012 auction,? of N38, 125, 000.
The report also highlights a 1992 painted Art Work ?titled “Grandma’s CLoth Series VI” by El Anatsui as the most expensive for November selling N91m. Most expensive for May 2012 was a 1961 painted work titled “Praise Singer”by Demas Nwoko and sold for N7.7million. In April an Art Work titled “Royal Dance Benin” painted by Ben Enwonwu sold for N4.6million.
