The picture attached in this post is evident of the neglect and suffering children face everyday in Nigeria. Whilst the young pupils in the front of the picture are trekking to school (only God knows from where and how far) the boy just behind them and at the background is busy setting up his tyres for his modest vulcanizer job.
In a country where people are said to live at less than a dollar a day at an average, it’s easy to comprehend why even when education is free some still won’t be able to afford it. That young boy at the background may have access to free education but no access to feeding himself and probably the family that has basically helped shape his future.
Scenes like this make you wonder if the Rochas Okorocha model in Imo state should be emulated. The governor gives N100 monthly to every Child attending public primary schools in the state. I understand the students are also fed as well.
Did I hear somebody say subsidy??
N100 monthly. Very funny!
