Innoson Motors has come out to deny claims that it is planning to shut shop and lay off its workers. Mr. Cornel Osigwe, spokesperson of the company said this in a chat with The Brief. It would be remembered that Nairametrics earlier reported that reports making the rounds that the company was shutting down and laying off its workers.
However, in a statement released by the company, it said ‘Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Co Ltd @innosonmotors has not shut down its manufacturing plant and is not planning to do so. In as much as the company is experiencing low production due to the inability to get the required volume of forex to source for its vehicle components outside Nigeria, it still has absolute faith in the Federal Government and CBN ability to fix forex scarcity problems’
The statement went on to say that although the company had reduced production and it was not laying off workers but may have to do so if the current situation continues.
