The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that 5,173,335 fresh registration in the third quarter of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) has been recorded across the country.
INEC disclosed this on Monday in its weekly update on CVR for quarter 3 week 3. It stated that 2,665,421 registrants had completed online and physical registration of which 1,344,813 were males, and 1,320,608 females.
The statistics showed that out of 2,665,421 persons that had completed their registration, 1,092,742 did it online, while 1,572,679 did physical registration.
Highlight of INEC’s report
- Of the 2,665,421, fresh registrants, 24,723 of the number were Persons Living With Disability (PWDS) and 1,854,371 were youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- 552,483 were middle-aged from 35 and 49, 226,994 were the elderly between age 50 and 69 and 31,573 were age 70 and above.
- A gender distribution of the applications revealed that 4,572,235 were males and 3,978,326 were females, of which 87,733 of the applications were from PWDS across all categories.
- The overall figure of 5.17 million includes applications for voter transfer, requests for replacement of Permanent Voter Cards and update of voter information records, among others.

The portal was launched on June 28, 2021, and physical registration kicked off across 811 state and local government area offices across the country on July 26, 2021.
