MacKenzie Bezos is on her way to becoming one of the world’s richest women as the divorce process between her and her estranged husband and Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, draws to an end this week.
According to reports, MacKenzie will inherit a $38 billion stake in Amazon Inc as part of her divorce settlement this week.

Bloomberg has classified the divorce settlement as one of the biggest wealth transfers in history. The President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Peter Walzer, was quoted as saying the following;
“This is the Godzilla of all divorces; nothing comes close to it because of the amount of wealth that’s being divided.”

Background Story: In April 2019, the couple announced their separation via Twitter, appreciating families and friends who were there for them all along. They were married for 25 years.
Recall that Nairametrics reported that Jeff Bezos would retain his voting power in the company after his divorce to MacKenzie. Their divorce agreement will also enable Bezos to retain his world richest man status; for now.
The shares agreement: In the settlement, Jeff Bezos will keep the voting control of his entire $143 billion stakes in Amazon, while MacKenzie is expected to own 25 percent of those shares. This represents a 4-percent stake in Amazon, making her the third richest woman in the world.
