Zenith Bank Plc today announced the appointment of Dr. Mukhtar Adam as their new Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. His appointment was given the necessary approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Here is his educational background
Dr. Adam graduated with a B.Ed in Economics and Management from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.
He also graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration in 2008 from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. In 2011, he acquired another M.Sc degree in Financial Sector Management from the University of London.
Adam acquired his doctorate degree in 2017 from Leeds Becket University in 2017.
About his professional background
Dr. Adam has been a staff of Zenith Bank Plc over the course of a decade, working in various capacities. He joined the Ghanian subsidiary of the tier one bank in August 2007 where he worked as a Manager, Financial Control and Strategic Planning till December 2007.
In January 2008, he joined Zenith Group in Nigeria and once again worked as a Manager, Financial Control and Strategic Planning. He occupied that position between January 2008 till September 2010.
He became a Senior Manager, Financial Control and Strategic Planning in October 2010. He has also headed the financial reporting and tax management units of the company. In 2014, he became a Deputy CFO, a position he held till his appointment as the Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining Zenith Bank in 2017, Dr. Adam worked at PricewaterCoopers. He joined the Ghanian operation of the company in 2002 as an Associate, and later rose to a Senior Associate I between 2005 and 2007.
