As PanAfrican Capital Holdings Limited (PAC Holdings) marks its 20th anniversary, the Group is positioning its financial services businesses for a new phase of growth, reinforcing the integrated platform that has been at the heart of its evolution from an investment banking firm to one of Africa’s diversified investment groups.

While PAC Holdings today operates across seven strategic sectors including real estate, healthcare, hospitality, renewable energy, technology and agribusiness—the Group’s financial services businesses remain the engine that continues to mobilise capital, advise institutions, deepen markets and create long-term value across the continent.

The strategy aligns with the Group’s SCALE 2030 vision, which focuses on unlocking greater value from its businesses while strengthening Africa’s economic future.

Speaking during the PAC Holdings 20th Anniversary Media Parley, Chris Oshiafi, Group Managing Director and CEO of PAC Holdings, said Africa’s next phase of growth would require stronger indigenous financial institutions capable of mobilising capital and building businesses that endure.
“We must build our own institutions. We must develop our own capital. We must create our own champions. And we must have the confidence to define the future we want, rather than simply react to the future created by others.”
He noted that the Group’s ambition over the next decade is to become an even stronger African investment platform capable of identifying opportunities, mobilising capital, strengthening institutions and bringing together the partnerships required to execute transformational projects across the continent.

Mobilising Capital for Growth

Leading the Group’s investment banking business is PAC Capital, whose advisory and capital raising capabilities have contributed to the Group’s broader achievement of facilitating transactions worth more than US$100 billion across over 25 African countries, supporting governments, financial institutions and private enterprises across sectors including infrastructure, telecommunications, energy, banking and healthcare.

According to Humphrey Oriakhi, MD/CEO of PAC Capital, the continent’s future depends on institutions capable of connecting long-term capital with transformational opportunities.

Africa’s development agenda will increasingly depend on sophisticated financial institutions that can structure complex transactions, mobilise long-term capital and provide trusted advisory services. Our focus at PAC Capital is to continue partnering with governments, development finance institutions and the private sector to finance businesses and projects that create lasting economic value across Africa.

Deepening Capital Market Participation

As Nigeria’s capital markets continue to evolve, PAC Securities is focused on expanding investor participation while delivering market access, execution excellence and investment solutions to institutional and retail investors.

Charles Okonkwo, MD/CEO of PAC Securities, said stronger capital markets are essential to financing Africa’s long-term economic ambitions.

“Efficient capital markets are fundamental to sustainable economic growth. At PAC Securities, we are committed to building investor confidence through trusted execution, quality research, strong governance and innovative investment solutions that enable individuals and institutions to participate meaningfully in wealth creation.”

Building Long-Term Wealth

For PAC Asset Management, the opportunity lies in helping institutional and individual investors preserve wealth while deploying capital into productive sectors of the economy.

According to Bamidele Ige, MD/CEO of PAC Asset Management, long-term investment discipline will become increasingly important as African economies mature.

Successful investing is built on discipline, research and a long-term perspective. We are committed to providing investment solutions that help our clients preserve and grow wealth while directing capital towards opportunities that support economic development. As African markets continue to evolve, professional asset management will play an increasingly important role in unlocking sustainable prosperity.

Protecting Investors and Strengthening Trust

Beyond capital mobilisation, PAC Holdings continues to strengthen market integrity through PAC Trustees and PAC Registrars & Investor Services, businesses that safeguard investor interests and reinforce confidence across Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.

Yinka Adegbola, MD/CEO of PAC Trustees, said trusteeship has become increasingly important as capital markets become more sophisticated.

Trust is the foundation of every successful financial transaction. Our role is to protect the interests of investors and stakeholders by ensuring strong governance, independent oversight and fiduciary excellence. As financing structures become more sophisticated, trusteeship will remain a critical pillar in building confidence within Nigeria’s debt and capital markets.

Similarly, Ifeanyi John, MD/CEO of PAC Registrars & Investor Services, said the company is transforming shareholder services through technology, stronger compliance and a customer-centric approach.

Our responsibility extends beyond maintaining shareholder records. We are building digital platforms that make shareholder engagement seamless while ensuring compliance, protecting investor assets and delivering personalised customer experiences. By combining technology with strong governance, we are helping strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s capital market while positioning our business for sustainable growth.

He added that the company is also diversifying into records management and data management services, leveraging its expertise in information management to deliver broader value to institutional clients while supporting the Group’s SCALE 2030 growth agenda.

A Platform Built for Africa’s Future

Twenty years after its establishment, PAC Holdings believes Africa’s future will require institutions that combine capital, expertise and partnerships to solve the continent’s most pressing development challenges.

From investment banking and securities trading to asset management, trusteeship and investor services, the Group’s integrated financial services platform is designed to mobilise capital efficiently, strengthen market confidence and support economic transformation across Africa.

As the Group embarks on its next chapter, its focus remains firmly on building stronger financial institutions capable of creating enduring value for investors, businesses and the wider economy.

In the words of Chris Oshiafi:
The first twenty years built the foundation. The next twenty must ignite the future.
