What the Governor said

“N3.22 billion will be for personnel cost, while N9.2 billion will be spent on overhead costs, while the sum of N21.5 billion will be for capital expenditure,” the letter disclosed.

Ganduje revealed that including the supplementary budget of N33 billion, the total budget size for 2021 now stands at N 231.7 billion.

“The request was dictated by the need to shape the purpose of the budget to deliver on its objectives and also to complete priority projects.

“The supplementary budget will be funded from internally generated revenues and other relevant sources applied by the government to fund budgets,” he added.

The house unanimously agreed to commit the supplementary/amendment budget 2021 for legislative action at the next plenary sitting.

Recall Nairametrics reported last week that the Governor of Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa sent a N66 billion 2021 supplementary budget request to the Delta State House of Assembly for approval.

Governor Okowa’s N66 billion approval request included N15.72 billion for Recurrent Expenditure and N50.65 billion for Capital Expenditure. The Governor also revealed in his letter that the request was necessitated to offset mounting arrears of unpaid certificates of contractors handling projects in the state.
