The Nigerian women’s relay squad ran a time of just 43.25 seconds in the Thursday morning heat at the Olympics, crashing dreams of a final heat.
Members of Nigeria’s women’s 1 X 100 metres relay team includes Tobiloba Amusan, Grace Nwokocha, Patience George and Bronze medalist, Ese Brume.
Germany came first in the heat at a time of 42.00, followed by Switzerland and China.
The Nigerian Athletics Federation has been rocked by the Puma scandal at the Olympics, as reports emerged on Wednesday that Puma has cancelled its 4 year $2.7 million contract with Nigeria, citing alleged breach of clause agreement for the Olympics.
