AMCON takes over assets belonging to SafeQuip Nigeria, Isaac Okoraformade

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has taken over assets belonging to SafeQuip Nigeria Limited and R.C. Omeaku & Sons Ltd due to indebtedness of over N470 million and N340 million, respectively.

This was disclosed by Presidential Media Aide, Tolu Ogunlesi. According to his tweets, Safequip Nigeria’s seizure was granted through a court order by Hon Justice O.O Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court Lagos. Part of the tweets said:

“AMCON Statement: Following the order of Hon Justice O.O Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court Lagos Division, AMCON has taken over an asset belonging to Safequip Nigeria Limited over an indebtedness of over N470million — at No. 20 Babatunde Jose Street, VI, Lagos.

Also from AMCON: “Hon Justice A.M Liman, riding on the order of Hon Justice I.N Buba of the Federal High Court Lagos, also gave order granting AMCON possession of 7 properties belonging to R.C. Omeaku & Sons Ltd, due to failure to settle indebtedness of almost N340million.”

AMCON Statement: Following the order of Hon Justice O.O Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court Lagos Division, AMCON has taken over an asset belonging to Safequip Nigeria Limited over an indebtedness of over N470million — at No. 20 Babatunde Jose Street, VI, Lagos.

AMCON also says that the property takeover is a series of future enforcement in the coming weeks through the amended AMCON 2019 ACT which gives the agency the more powers to enforce its operations.

Safequip Nigeria Ltd is located in Lagos, Nigeria, and was registered in 1987, the company operates as safety consultants for building protection operators from Fire, to building Materials and Security the Jalaoso Family are the directors of the Company (Abayomi, Wale and Oluyimi).
