“I assure you that at the end, we will hoist a flag of victory – with your cooperation and by the grace of the Almighty” he said.

He appreciated the front line health workers and professionals in the state for their services, as well as the volunteers that have stepped forward to assist the state government as it combats the COVID-19 scourge.

The Lagos state Commissioner for health, Professor Akin Abayomi had announced during the COVID-19 briefing on Tuesday that more patients would be discharged from the isolation centres in Lagos state in the coming weeks.

He noted that the test is a very sensitive one, hence the requirement for patients to test negative to the virus in two consecutive tests before they are discharged.

“We are confident in our strategy, and I can assure you that Lagos state is ahead in the fight against COVID-19″ he said emphatically.

Abayomi assured Lagosians that no patient would be released if there was any chance of relapse, and that steps were taken to ensure that they had fully recovered before sending them back into the community.
