Courteville, Jaiz Bank, Transcorp lead gainers’ chart on Friday

NSE Nigerian stocks, UBA, Zenith, First Bank lead actively traded stocks on Tuesday , Courteville, Jaiz Bank, Transcorp lead gainers on Friday

Courteville Business Solutions, Jaiz Bank, Champion Breweries, Transcorp and Oando made the list of top gainers in the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday.

The stock market, however, extended its bearish trend on Friday as the all-share index dipped 0.65% to close at 28,843.53 index points leaving the equity market capitalisation at N14.86 trillion.

Top gainers

Courteville led the gainers with 9.52% to close at N0.23 followed by Jaiz bank, which gained 9.09% to close at N0.72. Champion Breweries recorded 6.59% gain to close at N0.97, Transnational Corporation gained 4.3% to close at N0.97 while Oando gained 2.78% to close at N3.7.

Top losers

NAHCO led the decliners today in the Stock Market with 9.83% loss to close at N2.66 followed by PZ Cussons, which dipped 9.73% to close at N5.1. Honeywell Flour Mill recorded 9.35% loss to close at N0.97 while CAP Plc rounded off the list with 9.09% loss to close at N25.

Top trades by volume

Zenith Bank was the most actively traded stock with trades in 47.42 million units of shares valued at N994.64 million across 591 deals followed by Unilever Nigeria which traded in 44.11 million units of shares at N661.63 million across 70 deals.

UBA traded in 30.23 million units of shares at N241.78 million across 382 deals, GTBank traded in 26.3 million units of shares at N790.17 million across 233 deals while Access Bank capped the list with trades in 23.94 million units of shares valued at N226.2 million across 259 deals.
