Guinness Nigeria Plc, PZ Cussons, AG Leventis, UBA and Access Bank were the top five gainers at The Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday.
At the NSE, tradings ended in positive territory to gain 0.6% closing at 26,695.18 index points leaving the equity market capitalisation at N12.88 trillion.
The market recorded 2,700 deals worth N2.05 billion.
Top gainers
Guinness Nigeria Plc tops the gainers’ list, having gained 9.83% to close at N32.4 followed by PZ Cussons, which gained 9.52% to close at N5.75. AG Leventis gained 7.69% to close at N0.42. UBA gained 6.06% to close at N7 while Access bank gained 4.26% to close at N9.8.
Top losers
Neimeth Plc and Cornerstone Insurance lost the most on the floor with 9.09% loss to close at N0.6 each. University Press Plc shed 8.33% to close at N1.21 and First Bank Holdings and Royal Exchange both lost 3.85% to close at N6.25 and N0.25 respectively.

Top trades by volume
Access Bank was the most actively traded stock on the Nigerian bourse today with trades in 41.2 million shares valued at N396.9 million across 260 deals. UBA traded in 29.2 million shares valued at N201.96 million across 153 deals followed by Zenith Bank, which traded 25.6 million shares worth N479.8 million shares across 374 deals.
GT Bank traded 11.3 million shares valued at N332.9 million across 118 deals while Transcorp rounded off the list with trades in 10.1 million shares valued at N9.9 million across 55 deals.
