Plentywaka, a business-style bus riding service, has launched of its new improved app.
The app, which was launched in Lagos with Nairametrics in attendance, is designed to allow commuters schedule their rides from their preferred pick-up locations to their desired destination.
The app features a wallet system called WakaPurse. With this system, riders can fund with as low as N1,000 and conveniently pay for trips in real-time.
Why this matters: The app makes it more convenient for riders to book, to be picked and drop off across locations. The new PlentyWaka app basically improves the user experience.
Details: Other major improvements in this app include the optimized routing system, a better user navigation system and a referral system to introduce new users and earn points in the WakaPurse.
Another pertinent feature to note is that Plentywaka users can now perform group bookings with its new multi-rider feature.
Speaking during the launch, the Co-Founder, Plentywaka, Onyeka Akumah, explained that the app will be open to all as it created opportunities for partners with vehicles that can move more than 6 people at a time like Toyota Sienna’s, 14-seater buses, and coaster buses, among others. owners of such vehicles can also sign up as Plentywaka Partners.
What this means: The move by PlentyWaka will no doubt create an avenue for young people to get either full-time jobs or side hustles by working as drivers or partners for the company.
He said, “When they sign up, they can list their vehicles on the platform and earn decent revenue as riders commute.”
