Nigeria witness power cut as system collapse hit transmission stations

Nigeria’s Power Distribution Companies (DisCos) have announced system collapse across all transmission stations. This was disclosed in a statement issued by both Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKDC) and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (Ikeja Electric)

According to the information contained in the official twitter handle of the two distribution companies, all transmission systems collapsed as at 0438 hours and the Transmission Companies of Nigeria (TCN) is working to restore power.

“Power Update: At 2315hrs, we experienced a system collapse across all transmission stations. Supply was received at 0315hrs. Sadly, at 0438hrs, the system collapsed again. TCN & our team are working to restore supply. Kindly bear with us.”

Also, Ikeja Electric confirmed the development on its twitter handle, disclosing that the transmission stations have collapsed.

Meanwhile, both the TCN and other distributions companies are yet to confirm the development in power collapse. Hence, it is unknown if the system collapse currently affects all regions in the country.
