CAP, Total, GTBank lead NSE’s Gainers’ chart on Monday

The Chemical and Allied Products Plc, Total Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank, Nestle Plc and Dangote Cement led the gainers’ chart at the end of trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) today.

While CAP earned the best-performing stock, as it gained 9.89% to close at N22.55, Total Plc gained 7.92% to close at N129.5, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Nestle, Dangote Cement, gained 5.80% to close at N29.2, 3.71% to close at N1394.9, 0.53% to close at N151.5 respectively.

Meanwhile, trading at the bourse ended Monday in negative territory as the All-Share Index closed at 27,630.56 basis points, down by 0.16%.

Top Losers: On the flip side, Ecobank Transnational Inc was the worst-performing stock, declining by 9.55% to close at N8.05. Unilever Nigeria Plc fell by 7.93% to close at N26.7. MTN Nigeria Plc fell by 4.04% to close at N130.5. NASCON Plc fell by 2.19% to close at N13.4. Seplat Plc rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 0.29% to close at N555.

Top Trades by Volume: Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was most actively-traded stock today. 58.4 million shares valued at N1.6 billion were traded in 266 deals. Access Bank next with 50.4 million valued at N385.9 million Plc traded in 261 deals. FBN Holdings was next with 21.2 million shares valued at N115.1 million traded in 230 deals, followed by FCMB Plc with 16.7 million shares valued at N27.6 million traded in 59 deals.

Transnational Corp of Nigeria Plc rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks today with 7.1 million shares valued at N7.3 million traded in 68 deals.
