The Nigerian Stock Exchange ends today trading session negative

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Tuesday’s trading session in negative territory. The All-Share Index closed at 27,352.24 basis points, down by 1.08%.

Top Gainers

Associated Bus Company Plc was the best-performing stock today. The stock gained 9.68% to close at N0.34. NPF Microfinance Bank Plc gained 7.96% to close at N1.22. UAC Nigeria Plc gained 6.99% to close at N7.65. Jaiz Bank Plc also gained 4.65% to close at N0.45. Nestle Nigeria Plc rounded off the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 0.41% to close at N1215.1.

Top Losers

On the flip side, Cadbury Plc was the worst-performing stock, declining by 9.91% to close at N10.45. Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc fell by 8.28% to close at N39.3. Dangote Sugar Plc fell by 6.33% to close at N10.35. Exxon Mobil Plc fell by 2.85% to close at N153.5. MTN Nigeria Plc rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 0.71% to close at N139.

Top Trades by Volume

Nigerian Breweries Plc was most actively-traded stock today. 37.2 million shares valued at N1.9 billion were traded in 87 deals. Transnational Corp of Nigeria Plc was next with 23 million shares valued at N23.9 million traded in 80 deals, followed by FBN Holdings Plc with 13.3 million shares valued at N72.8 million traded in 221 deals.

United Bank for Africa Plc was next with 9.8 million shares valued at N59.8 million traded in 149 deals. UACN Property Development Company Plc rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks today with 7.5 million shares valued at N8.8 million traded in 122 deals.
