The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Tuesday’s trading session in negative territory. The All-Share Index closed at 27,602.77 basis points, down 0.32%. Year to date, the index is down by 12.18%.
Top Gainers: PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc was the best-performing stock today. The stock gained 5.93% to close at N6.25. Courteville Business Solutions Plc also gained 5% to close at N0.21. Cement Company Of Northern Nigeria Plc gained 3.57% to close at N14.50. Chams Plc gained 3.57% to close at N0.29. Wema Bank Plc rounded off the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 3.45% to close at N0.60.
Top Losers: On the flip side, Seplat Plc was the worst-performing stock, declining by 9.82% to close at N397.70. Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc also fell by 9.62% to close at N0.47. NPF Microfinance Bank Plc fell by 9.52% to close at N1.14. Ecobank Transnational Inc fell by 9.15% to close at N6.95. Trans-Nationwide Express Plc rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 9.09% to close at N0.70

Top Trades by Volume: Transnational Corps of Nigeria Plc was the most actively-traded stock today. 29.66 million shares valued at N31.7 million were traded in 99 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was next with 25.17 million shares valued at N692.24 million traded in 310 deals, followed by Access Bank Plc with 19.2 million shares valued at N128.51 million traded in 202 deals.
MTN Nigeria Plc was next with 17 million shares valued at N2.35 billion traded in 155 deals. FBN Holdings Plc rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks today with 15.62 million shares valued at N78 million traded in 263 deals.
Corporate Actions
Med-View Airline Plc dismissed a publication on Businessday that it had suspended its operation because its planes were undergoing maintenance. The airline said the information was misleading.
UAC of Nigeria Plc entered an agreement with Imperial Logistics as Imperial Logistics increased its stakes in MDS Logistics, (a subsidiary of UACN) from 49% to 57%, by acquiring an additional 8% shareholding from UAC.
