Zenith Bank Plc trades large volume as NSE ends Monday’s trading in red

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Monday’s trading session in negative territory. The All-Share Index closed at 27,691.66 basis points, down 0.39%.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Monday’s trading session in negative territory. The All-Share Index closed at 27,691.85 basis points, down 0.39%. Year to date, the index is down by 11.89%.

Top Gainers: Associated Bus Company Plc was the best-performing stock today. The stock gained 10% to close at N0.33. Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc also gained 10% to close at N0.22. John Holt Plc gained 8.70% to close at N0.50. NPF Microfinance Bank Plc gained 8.62% to close at N1.26. Tripple Gee and Company Plc rounded off the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 7.94% to close at N0.68.

Top Losers: On the flip side, Seplat Plc was the worst-performing stock, declining by 10% to close at N441. Forte Oil Plc also fell by 10% to close at N14.40. Julius Berger Nigeria Plc fell by 9.95% to close at N18.55. Champion Breweries Plc fell by 9.47% to close at N1.53. Courteville Business Solutions Plc rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 9.09% to close at N0.20.

Top Trades by Volume: Transnational Corps of Nigeria Plc was the most actively-traded stock today. 31.7 million shares valued at N33.9 million were traded in 90 deals. Zenith Bank Plc was next with 18.6 million shares valued at N348.4 million traded in 379 deals, followed by United Bank for Africa Plc with 17.8 million shares valued at N107.6 million traded in 249 deals.

FBN Holdings Plc was next with 14 million shares valued at N70.8 million traded in 297 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks today with 13.4 million shares valued at N372.1 million traded in 292 deals.
