The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Thursday’s trading session in negative territory. The All Share Index closed at 29,765.31 basis points, down 0.02%.

Year to date, the index is down 5.30%.

Top Gainers and Losers: Lafarge Africa Plc (WAPCO) was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 9.95% to close at N10.50. Linkage Assurance Plc gained 8.93% to close at N0.61. Thomas Wyatt Plc gained 8.82% to close at N0.37. AXA Mansard Insurance Plc gained 8.38% to close at N1.94. NEM Insurance Plc rounds up the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 8.16% to close at N2.65.

On the flip side, C & I Leasing Plc was the worst performing stock, declining by 10% to close at N5.67. Forte Oil Plc fell by 9.96% to close at N31.20. Wapic Insurance Plc fell by 8.89% to close at N0.41. Courteville Business Solutions Plc fell by 8.70% to close at N0.21. Neimeth Pharmaceuticals Plc rounds up the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 7.14% to close at N0.52.

Top Trades by Volume: Sterling Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 54.9 million shares valued at N131 million were traded in 102 deals. Lafarge Africa Plc (WAPCO) was next with 32.4 million shares valued at N340 million traded in 24 deals. Access Bank Plc was next with 26.9 million shares valued at N185 million traded in 346 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was next with 25.8 million shares valued at N801 million traded in 187 deals. Zenith Bank Plc rounds up the top five most actively traded stocks today with 19.8 million shares valued at N398 million traded in 348 deals.
