The Marvel blockbuster film ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ apparently has lots of Nigerian fans, because available data has shown that the film grossed N304 million across Nigerian cinemas in its first opening week.

According to data provided by Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), ‘Avengers: Endgame’ accomplished the feat after initially debuting with N22.5 million on its opening day in Nigerian cinemas.

Nairametrics‘ checks confirmed that that the superhero film is still dominating the local box office chart even as it continues to break the world record as the second highest grossing film ever.

Recall that Nairametrics earlier reported that ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has become the second-highest grossing film in the world, with an estimated $2.189 billion.

This record was cemented by the $619.7 million the film grossed in the US domestic cinema industry, which eclipsed the $600.8 million ‘Titanic’ grossed in its initial theatrical run after opening in December 1997.

The movie also broke the Box Office record with its worldwide record of $1.2 billion, including $357 million grossed locally; Nigeria.

As at the second weekend since its release, the movie has climbed an estimated amount of $145.8 million and has eased off the blistering pace in the US and Canada.

Endgame replaced Black Panther: Before Endgame topped the chart as the biggest opening in Nigeria, another Marvel flick, Black Panther, held the title with its N135.4 million Nigerian gross during its opening weekend.

Nairametrics foresaw the Avenger’s Endgame blockbuster moment: Recall that we earlier reported that Nigerian cinemas were expecting to cash out from the film’s release. The Group Chief Executive of Filmhouse Cinema spoke to us on this subject matter ahead during an exclusive interview, ahead of the film’s release.

Shows how wretchedly poor Nigeria is.
N304,000,000 divided by 360=$844,000. In a Country of over 200,000,000 People.
One Cinema in the USA probably makes more than this.
I hope the Writer of this Article is not touting this as an Achievement to be proud of. ??.
Now you know why the International press never quotes Box Office Figures For Nigeria,a big for nothing Country.
