May & Baker Nigeria Plc has appointed Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi as its new Non-Executive Director.

Dr Onyishi, who was appointed during the company’s last Annual General Meeting (AGM), has also been recommended by May & Baker’s board for election as a Director of the company.

A look at Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi’s career

Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi secured admission into University of Nigeria, Nsukka to do a Diploma Programme in 1993, and later a degree programme in 1996. He graduated in 1999 with a second class upper degree in Social Works and Community Development.

He later earned an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning in the Doctoral Research Centre of the University of Arizona, Phoenix, in the United States.

He founded the transportation company – Peace Mass Transit Limited (PMT) formally registering it in 1996 as a limited liability company with a paid up capital of N100,000.

Today, the transport company has fully paid-up capital in excess of four billion naira, with an asset base of over N20 billion and has grown into a business empire known as Peace Group of Companies, with PMT as the flagship having over 2,000 mini-busses in its fleet.

More so, Dr. Onyishi is a philanthropist and has won many awards and honors including an
honorary Doctor of Business Administration in May 2013, from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

On September 17, 2012, the government of President Goodluck Jonathan honoured
him with the award of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).

The company operates through and Foods, Pharmaceuticals, and Beverage segments.
