Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE

The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended today’s trading session on a negative note. The All Share Index closed at 31,924.51 basis points down 0.27%. Year to date, the index remains in positive territory, up 1.52% 

Top Gainers and Losers 

Wapic Insurance Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 5% to close at N0.42. PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc was next appreciating by 4.95% to close at N11.65. NPF Microfinance Bank Plc rounds up the top three gainers, gaining 4.73% to close at N1.55 

On the flip side Academy, Press Plc was the worst performing stock today. The stock fell to an all-time low, declining by 10% to close at N0.36. Veritas Kapital Plc was next dropping by 8.70% to close at N0.21. Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc rounds up the top three losers for the day. The stock fell by 8.57% to close at N0.64.  

Top Trades by Volume 

Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 62.3 million shares valued at N15.6 million were traded in 33 deals. Zenith Bank Plc was next with 46.6 million shares valued at N1.1 billion traded in 632 deals. FBN Holdings Plc rounds up the top three most actively traded stock today with 16.7 million shares valued at N136 million traded in 165 deals.
