Nigerian Stock Exchange Trading Floor

The Nigerian Stock Exchange closed in positive territory, for the fourth day in a row. The All Share Index ended today’s trading session at 30,583.21 basis points, up 0.40%.

Year to date, the index is down 2.70%.

Top Gainers and Losers 

Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 9.84% to close at N0.67. NEM Insurance was next, appreciating by 9.71% to close at N2.26. Sovereign Trust Insurance rounds the top three gainers for today, appreciating by 9.09% to close at N0.24.

On the flip side, eTranzact International was the worst performing stock today. The stock shed 9.87% to close at N3.56. Resort Savings and Loans is next, declining by 9.68% to close at N0.28. Cornerstone Insurance takes third place, dropping by 9.09% to close at N0.20.

Top Trades by Volume 

The three most actively traded stocks came from the banking space. Diamond Bank was the most actively traded stock today with 59.5 million shares valued at N125 million traded in 95 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank was next with 45.8 million shares valued at N1.4 billion traded in 256 deals.

Zenith Bank rounds up the top three most traded with 19.8 million shares valued at N603 million traded in 404 deals.
