TRANEX announces retirement of Managing Director

Trans-Nationwide Plc (TRANEX) has announced the retirement of its Managing Director, Chidinma Iheme. In a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), the company disclosed that Iheme’s retirement took effect from December 12, 2018.

The company also announced that Theodore Chikelu would be succeeding Chidinma Iheme as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

What you should know about Chidinma Iheme

Iheme holds a Bachelor of Laws (B.L.) Degree from the University of Lagos Akoka (1983). She was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1984. She holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from ESUT Business School, Lagos (1999). She is an Alumnus of the Lagos Business School (Advanced Management Program).

Iheme’s working experience has spanned across the public and private sectors. She worked variously at the Ministry of Justice Calabar, FSB International Bank Plc Lagos, C. Uche & Co., a private law firm, and Clair Resources Ltd Lagos.

She is a fellow of the Institute of Directors Nigeria, as well as a professional member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. She has served as the Secretary to the Nigerian International Air Couriers Association (NIACA) and is currently the Honourable Treasurer of the Association.

Iheme joined Trans-Nationwide Express Plc. in 1998 as the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser and Head of Administration, from where she rose to the position of General Manager in 2004 and MD/CEO in 2005.
