Afromedia Plc has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director, Olufemi Olaiya. His appointment took effect from November 29, 2018.
In a notification to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), the company made known that Olaiya’s appointment follows the resignation of Otunba Akinola Olopade as the Group Chief Executive Officer of the company.
About Olufemi Olaiya
Femi Olaiya joined the services of Afromedia Plc as Associate Director, Sales and Marketing with the mandate to revamp the Sales and Marketing operations of the business, which he did successfully, by delivering a cumulative growth in revenue of almost 100% over a 3 year period. He was later elevated to become the Associate Director/Chief Operating Officer in April 2017 and the Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer Media Business Units in October 2017. He was the Deputy Managing Director.
Prior to this, he was also the Managing Partner Redwood Consulting, a marketing advisory company. He has had experiences in various sectors of the economy totalling over 18 years, mostly in Sales and Marketing function and business management operations. He has worked in publishing, Oil and Gas, IT and Telecoms, and Manufacturing industries.
He is a versatile professional with a thorough grasp of B2B and B2C sales and marketing strategies and tactics. He has worked in large corporations (Schlumberger and NNPC), Medium Companies, and Small companies.
Femi is a serial entrepreneur who has been involved with building four startup companies from ground zero up. He is motivated about building a Nigerian Multinational Conglomerate.
Femi is an Executive MBA graduate of the Lagos Business School (Pan Atlantic University) and alumnus of the Obafemi Awolowo University.
