The tanking at the NSE shows no sign of stopping

NSE Nigerian stocks, UBA, Zenith, First Bank lead actively traded stocks on Tuesday , Courteville, Jaiz Bank, Transcorp lead gainers on Friday

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) continued its downward spiral today, as the All Share Index closed at 35,074.82 basis points, down 0.61%. Year to date, the index is down 8.28%

Top Gainers and Losers 

Linkage Assurance Plc led today’s gainers as it appreciated by 9.68% to close at N0.68. Union Diagnostic and Clinical services closed at N0.28, up 3.70%. First Bank rounds up the top 3 gainers with a 3.14% gain to close at N9.85.

On the flip side, UAC of Nigeria Property Development Company (UPDC) was the biggest loser, closing at N1.71, down 10%. Berger Paints Plc closed at N6.50 down 9.72%, while Learn Africa rounds up the top 3 losers, closing at N1.15, down 9.45%.

Top trades by volume 

UBA Plc was the most traded stock in today’s trading session. 28.2 million shares valued at N255 million were traded in 178 deals. Zenith Bank Plc was next on the list with 22.3 million shares valued at N513 million traded in 408 deals. FCMB rounds up the top 3 with  21 million shares valued at N38.6 million in 97 deals.

Fortis Microfinance Bank Plc 

Fortis Microfinance Bank has announced the resignation of Mrs Bunmi Lawson, its Interim Managing Director with effect from Friday August 3 2018.

Resort Savings and Loans Plc 

Resort Savings and Loans Plc has submitted its audited financial statements for the years 2015-2017 to the Central Bank of Nigeria for approval. The results will be filed with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) once the CBN gives approval.

Portland Paints and Products Nigeria Plc

Portland Paints and Products Nigeria Plc has announced the resignation of Mr Larry Ettah from the company’s board. His resignation is effective July 20, 2018.

Multiverse Mining and Exploration Plc 

Multiverse Mining and Exploration Plc has announced the appointment of Mamman Bukar Zangana as a Non-Executive Director. Zangana is the Managing Director of Mainstreet Capital, and his appointment is effective from the 1st of August 2018.

Academy Press Plc

Academy Press Plc will hold its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 27th September 2018.
