Arik Air has been assured of a smooth passenger movement as the airline begins its scheduled flight operations from the  Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) to Port Harcourt International Airport.

Operators of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL) assured the airline of a safe, secure and efficient passenger-friendly terminal which can provide exceptional services to Arik’s guests to Port Harcourt and the best destination for other flying passengers and shoppers.

Bi-Courtney further assured that MMA2 would continue to offer passengers using the terminal hitch-free facilitation and the ambience that would make their flying experience worth the while.

Recall that the Chief Executive Officer, Arik Air,  Roy  Ilegbodu had recently announced that the Airline will move some of its operations to the MMA2 terminal.

In his words

“We are daily reviewing our operations in order to give customers value for their money and enhance their travel experience. By moving some of our operations to MMA2, we are delighting customers with seamless travel”

This move by Arik Air signals an end to over a decade of refusing to operate from the Murtala Muhammed Airport Domestic Terminal Two (MM2) Lagos.

Arik had said it paid ₦160 million for office space at the terminal in 2007, a claim which the terminal management never refuted.

The airline also said no space was allocated to it, a development that led it to institute legal action against BASL at the Lagos High Court, but was yet to recover the money or be allocated any office space.
The airline then vowed it would rather fold up and take its operations to any other African country than fly from MM2.
Arik Air is currently under the management of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria AMCON after the airline ran into a huge debt and thereafter appointed a new management board for the Airline.
