While many companies are shutting down or reducing production shifts, things are bright at Zinox computers. The indigenous pc manufacturer has gotten a contract from oil giant Chevron Nigeria Plc to supply computers and other information technology equipment. The firm also gets contracts from Total, Shell and some government parastatals.

Difficulties accessing foreign exchange, means more firms will look inwards to get equipment and software. Zinox has experience with large volume transactions. The company supplied laptops and other equipment used in the 2007 voter registration held across the nation. The company was awarded a ₦459 million naira contract to supply 17,000 card readers to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 2013.
