Nigerite Says it has launched a new Cement product that may mean builders no longer need to apply plastering on a building.
According to Mr Frank Le Bris, the MD of Nigerite, the product called, KalsiClad, is the latest in the company’s Kalsi range of building solutions and it is a light weight fibre cement building board suitable for cladding application that gives facades a modern and stylish look.
He said it was the best solution for old and tired facades as it would give room for innovative designs on new facades.

“It is an investment of about N2bn. This is dedicated not only to the new product but also the new technology, which we call autoclave used to produce this product. It is a result of sheer determination of the entire stakeholders of Nigerite Limited and many years of experience and innovation of our major shareholder, Etex,”
“The product resists humidity in the house even if it is situated in a coastal area. This is a product for the high end market. The new product is bringing innovation into the Nigerian market. It is a product that is quite modern and is meant to improve the façade of a home or office. It is also durable and can stand for life,”
The product was launched in Lagos and the representative of the Commissioner for Housing, Lagos, also chipped in on what we thought was the most significant part of the product.
“It is quite innovative because with this, you don’t need to plaster your house before proceeding to paint. The product is out to revolutionise the construction of building in the country.
Wonder what the likes if Dangote Cement and Lafarge will be thinking? Especially if you consider that the technology wasn’t developed in Nigeria. Lafarge also launched a revolutionary product a few years back called ready mix and was quite popular with builders.
