Nairametrics|According to a source reaching Nairametrics, a condensed section of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC in Ogba Industrial Estate, Ikeja, Lagos State, was gutted by fire on Friday.
It was reported that the fire at the milk powder processing plant, occurred between the hours of 1-2 p.m. and was contained about 40 minutes later.
The company’s corporate affairs director, Mrs Ore Famurewa, had said that the fire was “caused by an electrical malfunction in the conveyor section.”
No casualties were reported in the process as immediate action were taken to safeguard the employees on duty by evacuating them from the facility for their safety.
The fire was put under control by Lagos State Fire Service, supported by FCWAMCO Safety Team, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria fire team, Guinness Nigeria and the other corporate neighbours.
