Data from the website of the NIBSS reveal that the total number of bank savings accounts in Nigeria as at September 2016 is now 65.435 million accounts.
This represents about 5.69 million from January 2016 when it was 59.737 million.
According to reports from Leadership Newspaper, on a year on year basis the number of savings account had increased by 14.8% from 57 million to 65.44 million. The total bank accounts held rose by 10.34 million or 12.5%.
On a year to date basis, the total bank accounts in the country grew by 6.77 million from 86.57 million to 93.2 million.
