The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has released third quarter data on cases of delayed flights and cancellation in Nigeria.
According to its data, domestic airlines operating in Nigeria recorded a total 7, 722 cases of delayed flights and 233 flight cancellations in the third quarter of 2016.
Frequent travelers in Nigeria are used to the high prevalence of delayed flights in Nigeria without due compensation from the airlines.
Arik Air topped the chart of delayed flights with about 2,824 and 128 flight cancellations. Here is the break down of the data provided;
Total number of flights – 13,097
Delayed flights – 7,722
Cancellations – 233
Arik Air – 4, 882 flights, topped the chart of delayed and cancelled flights with 2, 824 and 128 respectively. This equals about 58% flights delayed
Air Peace – 2,754 flight operations with1, 383 delayed flights and 16 cancellations. This equals about 50% of flights delayed.
Dana Air – 1, 665 flight operations with 1, 160 delayed flights and one cancellation. This equals about 70% of flights delayed.
