Niger Delta base militant group, Niger Delta Avengers has come out to deny that they are in talks with the Nigerian Government over the bombings of the oil installations in the Niger Delta.
Last week the Punch newspaper reported the President claimed that “his administration was currently engaging the Niger Delta militants in talks in order to end the spate of destruction of crude oil facilities in the region. He said the talks were being done through oil companies and law-enforcement agencies and were meant to find a lasting solution to insecurity in the region.”
The Niger Delta Avengers have now debunked this claims insinuating that the President may have been taking to the very long people. Here is an excerpt of the denial by the NDA.
“Our attention has been drawn to media report that the President is in touch with Niger Delta agitators including the Niger Delta Avengers but the truth is that we are not aware of any peace talk.
“If there is any such peace talk, it means the President is talking to their mercenaries set to disturb the genuine struggle of the agitators.
“President Buhari-led government is not sincere to the Nigerian people and their foreign allies.
“If we are to engage in any peace talk, we made it clear that the international community must be part of it. The President knows our demands. So they should stop deceiving the international oil companies, the general public and the international community”,
