As a result of the ongoing attacks on oil pipelines in the Niger- Delta region, representatives of the Federal Government has met with a select group of militants from that area.
According to sources, the meet had to hold in order to bring to an end the attacks on the pipelines which has been bleeding the nation’s economy and also listen to the plights of the militants.
The meeting which was arranged by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, and has the following government officials in attendance: Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh (rtd), Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani; National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd).
The meeting focused on the need to stop the attacks on the oil pipelines in the region.
However as at press time, we do not know if members of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) were represented at the meeting.
