The U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, on Thursday promised that the United States Embassy would offer technical assistance to help Nigeria solve the problem of fuel scarcity.

Ms. Power made the promise in an interview with newsmen journalists her visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.

“Just last night when I was coming from the airport, I saw long lines at petrol stations here in Nigeria.

“And I really feel for the people of this country, who are going through this difficult economic time.

“And I think this is something the embassy has promised to offer whatever technical advice, counsel and technical assistance that we can offer.

“But we know that some of the best minds in Nigeria are thinking about that, including the ministers in this government,” she said.

The Envoy said the U.S would discuss with Nigeria on ways to diversify its economy

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOULD NOT LIMIT IT TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO FUEL BUT SHOULD EXTEND IT TO OTHER AREAS SUCH AS; ELECTRICITY SUPPLY, AGRICULTURE, GOOD ROAD NETWORKS, HEALTH, ETC. AMERICA HAS THE CAPACITY AND ABILITY TO HELP REDUCE THE FRUSTRATION OF NIGERIANS BY QUICKLY COME IN TO AID US. THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT CONTRIBUTION IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED ALONG WITH OTHER HELP FROM EUROPE, BUT NOT ENOUGH! LET AMERICA MOVE IN WITH IT MIGHT AND BRAKE THE YOKE OF POVERTY AND INSECURITY IN THE COUNTRY. NIGERIANS ARE WAITING PATIENTLY FOR THE GOOD PEOPLE OF AMERICA TO POOL US OUT OF THESE CALAMITIES AND INSECURITY!
