Minister of Commerce in oil-rich Kuwait, Youself Al-Ali and Undersecretary Khaled Al-Shimmali were both recently issued parking tickets.
According to traffic officers, their cars were parked in spaces allocated for the handicapped in a yet-to-be occupied building.
The minister expressed shock when he came out of the building as he saw traffic officers issuing a citation so he and other officials commended the traffic officers for doing their job.
He blamed the employees assigned in the building as they allegedly directed the drivers to use the parking spaces for the handicapped.
In a quick response, Kuwaiti Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Sulaiman Fahad Al-Fahad, has expressed his gratitude to the traffic officers for performing their duties well without taking into consideration the status of the persons involved.
It is obvious Nigerians and even Africans entirely will ask themselves one question ” CAN THIS EVER HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY?”
Can our law enforcement agencies be trained and equipped to carry out such duties on the so-called elites in the society?
