The All Share Index posted its largest one day gain since April 2015 after it closed at 3.79% with a market capitalization of N 9,553,314,115.89. The huge gain took December’s month on month change to a positive gain of 1.4%. The Index had before today had a month on month loss of 7.1%.
The big gain posted today was as a result of Dangote Cement which gained a whopping 8% the first time it has gained this much since April 2015 when it gained 10% on the first day of the month. When Dangote Cement shares gain the All Share Index gains. Dangote Cement share price closed at N164.95 with about 1,543,230 units crossing. Dangote Cement is still down 17% YTD.
