Contractors from Akwa Ibom State, under the aegis of Core Community Contractors Initiative, have given Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, a 21-day ultimatum to implement the Local Content Law 2010.
The executives of the contractors, led by the Chairman, Chief Friday Ebong lamented that Mobil Producing and other contracting firms have neglected the core community contractors over the years in the award of contracts, adding that if nothing was done on the expiration of the period, they would stage mass protests that would shut the company’s operations.
Ebong also said it had come to their notice that Mobil had already implemented the Local Content Law of the Federation in some places like Bonny, Lagos and Warri.
