In what has been described as part of a multinational investigation, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) raided the Asokoro, Abuja home of former petroleum minister, Deziani Alison – Madueke.
According to reports, Diezani was arrested in London, UK, today, by the newly formed International Corruption Unit (ICU) of the country’s National Crimes Agency.
The operations it was gathered were being coordinated with several international agencies because of the “sensitive” nature of the investigation.
EFCC made “significant recovery” of documents at the Abuja residence of the former minister, a senior security source said.
“The raid on her Asokoro residence today (Friday) produced vital information that will aid in the prosecution of the case,” the source said.
