The Committee of Chief Internal Auditors of Banks in Nigeria (CCIABN) has changed its name to become the Association of Chief Audit Executives of Banks in Nigeria (ACAEBIN).
The group, which doubles as a sub-committee of the Bankers’ Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the decision aligns with current international practice whereby Internal Auditors are addressed as Audit Executives.
The new name has been duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
The body further explained in a statement that the main objective of ACAEBIN is to encourage interaction among internal Auditors in the financial industry, as well as fostering and promoting inter-bank cooperation, dispute resolution, ethical standards and professionalism among member organisations.
