The CBN through its Communication Adviser Ugochukwu Okoroafor has confirmed that Nigerians in diaspora who have bank accounts in Nigeria will not have their accounts suspended for BVN reasons. He made this confirmation via a series of tweets in response to questions from depositors. He also said the CBN will in two weeks release guidelines for Diaspora BVN registration. See tweets

He also mentioned that the CBN will use various methods available to proof depositors who are actually diaspora. They will probably use Visa time stamps, tickets etc. to verify local depositors who are in diaspora.
