President Goodluck Jonathan was on Kakaaki (an AIT program) yesterday taking questions about the economy, war against Boko Haram and the Chibok girls. In responding to one of the many questions thrown at him, he expressed confidence that the over 200 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in their hostel in Chibok, Borno State last year are still alive. Surprising as this remark is he based his claim on a simple premise.
The good story is that they ( insurgents) have not killed them because when terrorists kill, they display the corpses to intimidate the people.
So, these girls are alive. And so, we will get the girls. Luckily, we are narrowing down the areas of their(insurgents) control. So we will get them. GEJ
What do you think? Makes sense?
I just find it hard to believe that the C-in-C of the Armed Forces would make such a statement on a very sensitive matter without (factual) intel. The statement gives no confidence!
The statement reads more like a reassuring political comment not based on any sound reasoning or fact. Oga Presido is only hoping against hope
