National Salt Company of Nigeria, NASCON has announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Edward Farrer as its new Managing Director. The decision was taken at a board meeting held on Tuesday 17 February 2015. By this appointment, Mr Farrer replaces Mr Ade Adeniji.
NASCON ‘s latest result released for the period ended September 2014 showed earnings per share dropped 24% year on year as the company battles with drop in revenues and rising operating expenses. It won’t be surprising to concluded Adeniji’s replacement was a strategic move to turn around the company and reposition it as an integrated Food processing company rather than a pure salt maker.
Mr. Paul Edward Farrer started his career as a Manager with TGI Fridays (Americana Group) in November 1996 before joining Steers Holdings – Debonairs Pizza in 1999 as the Area Manager.
He joined Famous Brands, South Africa as the Company’s Regional Operations Manager in 2002. From February 2003 – November 2004 he worked with Innscor International Ghana as the Country Manager and from 2005 to 2007 he was the Group Chief Operating Officer of Food Concepts Plc and later became Group Executive Director of the Company in 2010.
Mr. Edward has attended several professional trainings among which are Management Training Certificate and America Hygiene Certificate in Dallas, USA, Business Planning, Strategic Planning and Business Cycle Courses among others. He was the Managing Partner with Oakleigh Investment before this appointment.
