Transcorp topped the chart for stocks with the highest volume of trade as 203,849,500 shares exchanged hands at the close of business today. The higher figure may not be unconnected to inter trade exchanges between two parties, rather than actual trade across several parties. Sometimes two trading houses or two or three large investors can decide to trade shares of a company in high volumes but because it is not over the counter will still have to pass through the trading floor thus reflecting in exchanges for the day.
The familiar sight of Oando was not in the gainers chart today as the stock closed lower at N33.39. It actually opened at a high of N35.14 but the bullish run faded out. Oando still joined the highest volume of stocks moved today with 83million.
