If you consider the way marketers of banks jostle through night and day rain and sunshine just to get customers, then you realise how big a feat it is to have 5.5million customers. It’s even more remarkable that the bank in question is GT Bank which is not known for heavy marketing.
A recent statement from its MD revealed this achievement;
“five years ago one of the big criticisms of GTBank was that it was not a retail bank. We had 250,000 customers and today we have 5.5 million retail customers. So when we choose to do something, we really sink our teeth in it.
If you understand how the bank operates, then you know it achieved this via a combination of Internet marketing, advertorials and brand positioning. A model for smaller banks to copy.
