Pursuant to the CBN local content policy they have selected to Nigerian companies who have the mandate to print cheques in Nigeria. They are Superflux International Ltd and Tripple Gee and Company Plc. In approving the two firms they delisted 13 others (mostly foreign). Strangely NSPMC did not make the cut. The CBN also says it will approve more local ones in dues course.
I hope CBN know what they are doing?
I hope so too oh!!! Mnwl you know show yesterday. Hope you’re good tho
I was part of the MICR implementation committee of CBN that created the new cheque standards used in the country today. The accreditation sub-committee did a thorough inspection of facilities of all the cheque printers both locally and offshore. The present CBN Deputy Governor Dr Mrs Sarah Alade headed that body and i can tell you that she was at her very best. The local content initiative has always been part of the policy from the onset. Superflux International Ltd and Tripple Gee and co Plc have demonstrated a strong belief in the Nigerian dream by investing heavily in this regards. Congratulations to them. NSPMC ineeds to up their game.
I am particularly happy about the Local Content approach even though I share some of Uche’s concerns. I like the fact that Tripple Gee was choses since it is a public company
Bro, NSPMC is a government run organisation with its attendant issues. The place needs to be overhauled and new technologies put in place.
Its sad those guys ended up this way. This was like on the best Govt. Parastatals back then
They have all it takes to do better than any printing company in the world but they need to put a lot of things in place and move with technological innovations in this sector. Service delivery is key here.
