The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken a significant step to boost the local film industry by granting a licensing waiver for investors looking to establish cottage or community cinemas across the country.  
Industry leaders within Nigeria’s vibrant Nollywood sector have called on the Federal Government to retain the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) in its current parastatal status, amidst the implementation of the Oronsaye Report.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently appointed Dr. Shaibu Husseini as the new Director-General of the NFVCB, succeeding Adedayo Thomas.
